CELLARIUM - The undercroft of the refectory (cellarium) extends the full length and breadth of the latter, but is divided into two chambers, each sub-divided into two aisles of three bays by central octagonal pillars. The low prismatic vaulting is supported on the south side wall by brackets of various simple geometric forms. This is in contrast to the north and partition walls where the vaulting rests on semi-pillars. The pillars have no capitals: they are merely implied by the circumscribing beading a few inches below the octagonal abaci.
