Abbey
Former stable Most of the domestic buildings to the west, the abbot's residence, the kitchens and stables etc., have been dismantled over the years, the materials being 'recycled' to build the nearby village houses. Some buildings can only be traced by the remaining foundation. All that remains of the kitchen range is a short stretch of wall, pierced by two windows, where the restaurant sets out some of its tables. The window nearer to the refectory was once fitted with a sink: only the drain hole at the back now survives. close window |
