There is much evidence of the former Byzantine castle among the ruins of Kantara.
This is a view of the south eastern tower which shows the typical horseshoe shaped outline.
It is almost an exact copy of the castle wall towers of St. Hilarion.
Even the sentry walk, so well in evidence in Hillarion castle.
