The Northern Enclosure of Cairo's Citadel is surrounded by the Citadel's original Ayyubid walls and towers.
The BURG AT-TURFA (Masterplece Tower) is the largest of al-Kamil's towers. lt is 30 meters wide and was
once 25 meters high. Its original, two-tiered upper story was replaced by Muhammad 'Ali's modern parapet
in the early 19th century.
* The walls between the Burg at-Turfa and the Burg al-Matar were rebuilt by Muhammad 'Ali.
