1304: The mausoleum and college of al-Nasir Mohammad, one of Qalaoun's sons, whose triple reign,
twice interrupted by usurpers, marked the military, artistic and commercial height of the Mamluk era.
He got rid of his opponents and managed to maintain a relatively strict and just rule for thirty years.
Note the Gothic doorway of the building which was brought back from a Crusader church in Acre (in
the
Holy Land, now Israel) by al-Nasir's elder brother. The minaret is a masterpiece of carved stucco.
