Fulco V van, bijgenaamd "de Jonge", werd geboren in het jaar 1092. In 1109 was hij graaf van Anjou en in 1131 bracht hij het tot koning van Jeruzalem. Zijn echtgenote: Ermentrude van Maine. Na haar dood hertrouwde Fulco in 1129 met Melisende van Jeruzalem. Zij was een dochter van Boudewijn II van Bourg, koning van Jeruzalem, en Morphia van Militene, een Armeense prinses. Toen Boudewijn in 1131 stierf, volgde Fulco hem op.
